Yorkville is a neighbourhood and former village in Toronto, Canada named after the Town of York. It was founded in 1830 by Joseph Bloor.
The area was then incorporated as a village in 1853 and was eventually annexed into Toronto in 1883. Bounded by Avenue road to the west, Yonge Street to the east, Bloor Street to the south, and Davenport Road to the north, Yorkville is one of Toronto’s most dynamic neighbourhoods.
