Liberty Village
Liberty Village is a 43-acre master-planned neighbourhood located near the heart of downtown Toronto.
It is bounded by King Street West to the north, Dufferin Street to the west, Gardiner Expressway to the south, and Strachan Avenue to the east.
The area now known as Liberty Village was part of the Garrison Common (a military fortification for the Town of York) in the late 1700s and early 1800s.
Then the railway arrived at this area in the 1850s which attracted industries and in turn led to the building of warehouses and factories.
